HLGU improves to 2-11 on the season and 1-7 in the American Midwest Conference.
"It was nice to get our offense firing today, especially in the first half,” HLGU coach Tasha Flynn said. “Several players were able to contribute on the offensive side of the ball. We had some good midfield movement, which set up opportunities to score."
Kendal Welch struck a corner kick in the 10th minute to the foot of Maci Cotler, who netted the first goal of the game. But five minutes later STLCOP evened the score after a Lady Trojans' misplay.
Cotler ran past the Eutectics defensive line for two more goals in the 21st and 34th minutes to give her a hat trick before halftime.
In the 35th minute, Stephanie Venvertloh scored unassisted.
Kaelyn Denham scored off an assist from Cotler in the 76th minute to give HLGU a 5-1 lead.
In the 80th minute, Sarah James dropped a ball back to Skylar Evans, who ripped a 30-plus yard shot past the keeper.
Cotler took advantage of a pass from Venvertloh in the 90th minute to score her fourth goal of the game.
The Lady Trojans totaled 36 shots and 17 on goal in the win while holding the visitors to six shots (three on goal).
