Palmyra netters post third straight shutout

The Palmyra girls tennis team had success from top to bottom of its lineup during a 9-0 home win over Fulton on Thursday.


Palmyra secured its third consecutive shutout.


The Lady Panthers won the doubles matches by a total of 24-1.


Kendra Maples and Amy Bryan were 8-0 victors on the top doubles court. Reagan Lehenbauer and Jansen Juette teamed up for an 8-0 win at No. 2, while Chloe Dent and McKenna Abbott won 8-1 at No. 3.


"We are continuing to see some improvement from all players," coach Jessica Gottman said. "Our doubles teams are getting stronger at each match."


Maples claimed an 8-1 win in the No. 1 singles matchup.


Bryan (8-3, No. 2), Lehenbauer (8-0, No. 3), Dent (8-5, No. 4), Abbott (8-3, No. 5) and Juette (8-1, No. 6) rounded out the singles victories.


Palmyra (4-1) is scheduled to host Mexico on Tuesday.
