The Hannibal volleyball team refused to let up in a dominant sweep at Bowling Green on Thursday night.
The Lady Pirates only allowed 10 points in the 25-3, 25-7 victory.
Hannibal improves to 2-0 on the season.
"I talked to the girls about warming up for each team like it's postseason play, leaving it all on the court and getting excited about each point earned," Hannibal coach Kelsey Whitley said. "I was very proud of them for pushing and never letting the pressure off."
Abby Baumann led Hannibal with eight kills in the match.
Kyler Rademan and Kaylee Falconer engineered the offense by dishing out 15 and six set assists, respectively.
"Abby's volleyball IQ is high, making her a threat on the court, whether front or back row," Whitley said. "We also need to give credit to our setters working hard to get the ball to the necessary location."
Payton Frick helped seal the Game 1 win with a strong showing at the service line. The junior led Hannibal with six aces overall.
Aside from a few unforced errors Hannibal breezed through the second set.
Claire Thomas posted five kills on the day, while Haley Ballinger, Maddie Janes and Rademan made five digs a piece.
Janes added three aces, with Rademan and Baumann serving two a piece.
Hannibal is scheduled to play Marshall at noon Saturday in its home opener at Korf Gymnasium.
