Hannibal tennis drops tough match to MMA

The Hannibal boys tennis team dropped a match to Missouri Military Academy by a score of 6-3 on Thursday.


Adam Ledbetter and John Maune picked up the Pirates lone victories in singles play. Ledbetter slipped past his opponent 11-10 (10-8), while Maune was victorious 10-4.


Ledbetter and Caleb Lionberger were Hannibal's only doubles winners. They teamed up to win their match 10-6.


Also in varsity doubles, Caleb Northcutt and Joe Karlinski lost 7-10, while Austin Taylor and Maune fell 3-10.


Three Pirates — Northcutt, Karlinski and Lionberger — lost their singles matches by scores of 7-10. Taylor lost his singles match 3-10.


In junior varsity action, Ethan Bross and Luke Boyd each won in singles before teaming up for a 10-2 win in doubles.
