Hannibal sweeps doubles in win over Moberly

The Hannibal tennis team defeated Moberly 9-3 on Tuesday in a North Central Missouri Conference road match.


Joe Karlinski, John Maune and Forrest Lemon each picked up singles victories. 


Karlinski, the Pirates No. 3 player, won 10-1, while Maune was victorious 10-4 and Lemon took his match by a score of 10-1.


The Pirates swept the Spartans in six varsity doubles matches. Karlinski teamed with Caleb Northcutt to the win the No. 1 doubles matchup 10-4. Austin Taylor and Maune won 10-7, while Caleb Lionberger and Lemon came out on top 10-2.


Duncan Lemon and Donovan Mefford won 10-8; Ethan Bross and Luke Boyd won 10-1; and Collin Poage teamed with Austin Brown to win 10-0. 


In junior varsity doubles, Caleb Newlon and Nick Tompkins won 10-0.
