The Palmyra Lady Panthers defeated Paris 62-48 on Thursday night to advance to the Monroe City Tournament championship.
THE TURNING POINT
Up by nine points going to the fourth, Palmyra senior Nicole Kroeger — playing with four personal fouls — scored 15 points in the final period to seal the win.
Kroeger hit three treys and Madison Keim also scored six points as part of the Lady Panthers' 26-point fourth-quarter scoring spree.
Kroeger finished the night with 21 points for Palmyra, while Audrey Fohey and Savannah Neisen each scored 10 a piece. Robby Meyers netted eight.
For Paris, Allison Moore led with 22 points, while Drew Lockhart scored 13.
BITS AND PIECES
• Kroeger was having a relatively light scoring night through the first three quarters, as Paris defenders had limited her to six points before her late outburst.
• The two teams combined to score 47 points in the fourth quarter.
• Palmyra (4-0) has won every game so far this season by at least 11 points.
Palmyra will play Monroe City at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday for the Monroe City Tournament championship.
