HMS Pirates wrestling team defends home mats

The HMS Pirates wrestlers hosted their first home event Thursday night and strongly defended their home mats.


Hannibal had another dominant performance, winning 25 of 30 total matches.


Hannibal, Troy, Centralia, and Camp Point Central (IL) rounded out the field of teams who competed at the quad meet inside Korf Gymnasium.


Trevor Wilson was 4-0; Tyler Leonard, Tanner Leonard and Tyler Hardy were all 3-0; Gavin Morawitz, Brayden Stevens, Grayson Stevens, Maddix Veach and Lyndon Otten were 2-0; Dylan Cheadle was 2-1; Damien French and Charlie Culp were 1-1; and Kobey Hudelson was 0-2.


Hannibal returns to the mats at 9 a.m. on Saturday at the Troy Middle School Wrestling Tournament.
