Alliance Art Gallery features wood artist Kent Brown

HANNIBAL | The Alliance Art Gallery in Hannibal is featuring the work of member artist Kent Brown during July. An open house is scheduled from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 11. A drawing for a piece of Brown's artwork will be at 5:30 p.m. You do not have to be present to win.

Summer camp for children begins July 13

HANNIBAL |The Bluff City Theater Annex at 403 Broadway will host a summer camp called “A Breath of Fresh Air” for children ages 6 to 10 in July, with separate sessions for two age divisions. It will begin Monday, July 13, and registration is still available.

Marion County reports four new COVID-19 cases

HANNIBAL | The Marion County Health Department on July 6 reported four additional positive case of novel coronavirus (COVID-19): a male age 80 to 90 nursing home resident, currently hospitalized; a male age 40 to 50 quarantined at home; a female age 60 to 70 quarantined at home; and, a female age 20 to 30 quarantined at home. The total Marion County positive cases was 31 (five hospitalized), 25 active and six recovered.

Laura S. Glascock

Laura S. Glascock, 59, of Palmyra, Mo., passed away at 7:57 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2020, at Country Aire Nursing Home in Lewistown, Mo. There will be no funeral services at this time. Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra, Mo., is handling arrangements.
