Obituary: Janet 'Sue' Ransdell, 68, of Hannibal

Janet “Sue” Ransdell, 68, of Hannibal, passed away at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, July 27, 2019, at the Luther Manor Care Center in Hannibal.

There will be no services at this time.

Sue has made an anatomical donation of her remains for medical research to the A.T. Still University in Kirksville.

The family his being served by the James O’Donnell Funeral Home of Hannibal.

Sue was born on Oct. 9, 1950, to Edward Ledford and Lena Jo Nichols Ledford O’Brien.

Survivors include two daughters, Lori Garrett of Hannibal and Angi Goodhart (Russ) of Hannibal; one brother, William “Bill” Ledford (Trina) of Traverse City, Mich.; six grandchildren, Brittany Phelps (Junior), Buddy King, Kailee Whitney, Zachary Chesbrough, Taylor Chesbrough and Dakota Dietle.  Also surviving are nine great-grandchildren; and one nephew, Jeremy Ledford.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Sharon Armour.

Sue was a photographer professionally and more recently had worked in the children’s daycare at the Immanuel Baptist Church.

Sue loved to spend time with her cats, Bonnie, Clyde and Fixer. She enjoyed following St. Louis Cardinals baseball, but most of all loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Weekend trips with her friends were always special for Sue. She was also a wonderful cook and baker, making the best Banana Split Cake and Watergate Cake.


She was a Christian by faith.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Northeast Missouri Humane Society or the Cuddle Cat Rescue Organization.
