John Damon LaJoy Sr., 51, of Hannibal, passed away at 5:26 p.m. Thursday, July 18, 2019, at his home. 

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2019 at the Eighth and Center Streets Baptist Church in Hannibal.    

The family is being served by the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.

John was born June 11, 1968, in Hannibal to Fred V. and Mary Longmeyer LaJoy.

Survivors include one daughter, Jasmine LaJoy of Hannibal; two sons, John LaJoy Jr. of Hannibal and Preston Jones (Brandi) of Monroe City. John is also survived by one sister, Mavis Allison (Jimmy) of Hannibal; John's fiancé, Regina Fitzpatrick; 11 grandchildren; and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Jackson Jr.; and one sister, Debra Snoddy.

John loved to be outdoors. He spent a lot of time on the water fishing and also loved to go hunting. Sports was a big part of John's life, but he enjoyed football, especially watching his favorite NFL team, the Chargers, the most. John was the happiest when he was spending time with his family and friends. 

John was a member of Eighth and Center Baptist Church.
