Obituary: Norman Lewis Grubb, 79, of Hannibal

Norman Lewis Grubb, 79, of Hannibal, passed away at 10:45 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2019, at his home.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Father Mike Quinn and Chaplain Mark Burkey will officiate.

Friends and family are invited to Norman's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home, in Hannibal.

Norman was born June 13, 1940, in Hunnewell to George Edward and Helen Feldkamp Grubb.

He was married to Harriet Hall on May 27, 1967, in Quincy, Ill. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Michael Lee Grubb of St. Albans, Vermont; one daughter, Susan Renee Wilson (Mark) of Shelbyville; one brother, Charles Edward Grubb of Minneapolis, Minn.; and three grandchildren, Katherine Jane Grubb, Austin James Wilson and Aiden Lewis Wilson.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents; and one grandson, Alan Wilson.

Professionally, Norman worked at General Mills for many years.

Norman proudly served his country in the 1st Armor Division with the 46th Infantry in the United States Army. He was stationed in Fort Hood, Texas.

Norman loved to play chess and golf. He also enjoyed bowling and playing board games with the family and grandkids. Norman was very family-oriented and spending time with family and friends was very important to him.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association and\or Hunnewell I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Wilson, Aiden Wilson, Katherine Grubb, David Hall and George Grubb.
