David Joseph Golian, 62, of Hannibal, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at 6:25 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2019.

Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2019, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.

David was born Sept. 9, 1956, in Hannibal, the son of Freeman and Ann Wheeler.

Survivors include his mother, Ann Wheeler; four brothers, John (Debbie), Marvin Sr. (Carolyn), Daniel, and Paul (Rendy); four sisters, Carolyn, Duffy, Sandy (Alan) and Linda (Bill). David is also survived by five nieces, Michelle, Tracy (Amy), Alexus, Nicole, Amanda; and three nephews, Aaron, Joe and Duane; and several other nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his father, Freeman Wheeler, and special friend, Bobbie Bontz.

Professionally, David worked at Watlow as a laborer for many years.

David, or Oscar the Grouch as he was known by many family and friends, was very patriotic and often wore American Flag shirts and United States Air Force hats. He was also a talented artist and loved to draw horses. Dallas Cowboy football and cheerleaders, Cheech and Chong and playing boardgames were a few of David's favorites. Spending time with his family, nieces and nephews and especially his Mama, brought joy to David.

Most importantly, David was a soldier of God and loved to talk about his personal relationship with the Lord daily.

Memorial contributions may be made to Northeast Missouri Humane Society or to the family for expenses. Please make checks payable to the family in the name of Michelle Golian.
