Obituary: Kevin Wayne McLeod, 62, of Hannibal

Kevin Wayne McLeod, 62, of Hannibal, passed away Monday, July 8, 2019, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Friends and family are invited to Kevin's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 13, 2019 at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.

Kevin was born Feb. 28, 1957, in Hannibal to Joseph and Wanda McLeod Ely.

He was married to Dianna Jones on Nov. 20, 1989, of Hannibal. She survives.

Other survivors include his mother, Wanda Ely of Hannibal; four children, Manolitio Jones (Sarah) of Leawood, Kan., Dakeeta Planty of Hannibal, Kevan Powell of Austin, Texas and Anthony McLeod (Amber) of Omaha, Neb.; one brother, Ron Ely of Hannibal; five grandchildren, William Cassidy Powell, Giana Willow Powell, Nadiya Leigh Planty, Alexandria Quinn Jones and Lennox Nicole McLeod. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Kevin was preceded in death by his father; one brother, Mike McLeod; his grandparents; and his mother-in-law, Thelma Jones.

Professionally, Kevin worked in the receiving department at BASF for over 40 years.

Away from work, Kevin enjoyed hunting and fishing. Kevin also loved motorcycles and road trips to visit his children and grandchildren. A talented singer, Kevin was the lead singer for many years for the popular local band, "Rock N Roll Revival." The Dallas Cowboys and Kansas University Jayhawks were Kevin's favorite teams to support on the field.

Family was always central to Kevin's life. He simply enjoyed spending time with those he loved.

Kevin attended Scott's Chapel United Methodist Church.
