Obituary: David Hoskins, 73, of Hannibal

David Hoskins, 73, of Hannibal, passed away at 9:19 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2019.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Hannibal. Father Mike Quinn will officiate. Burial will be at Holy Family Cemetery in Hannibal. 

The James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal is in charge of arrangements.

David was born July 4, 1945, in Hannibal to George Junior and Dorothy Jean Hudson Hoskins.

He was married to Sarah McGee on June 19, 1965. She survives.

Other survivors include two children, J.J. Hoskins (Sheri) of Troy and David Michael Hoskins (Veronica Maple) of Hannibal, one brother, Christopher Raye Hoskins; one sister, Carolyn Kaye Bradley (Jeff); three grandchildren, David Tre' Hoskins, James Elliott Hoskins and Josephine Elizabeth Hoskins; and many special nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Connie Abright; and a special uncle, Richard Hudson.

David was the owner and operator of Hoskins Iron and Metal.

David was a Vietnam veteran and proudly served his country in the United States Army.

David enjoyed deer hunting and fishing on Salt River. Old western movies, visiting the mountains in Colorado and cooking holiday dinners were a few of David's favorites. A "people person," David enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

David was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mark Twain Lake Vietnam War Memorial Maintenance Fund.

Pallbearers will be Dave Hoskins, Jimmy Hoskins, Johan Jarner, Leon Wallace, Marshal Brown and Corey Cornelius.
