Dane Gene Rouse, 86, of Hannibal, passed away at 7:41 a.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at his home.

Graveside services and burial with full military rites by Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post #55 will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 7, 2019 at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal. Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate.

There will be no visitation.

The family is being served by the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.

Dane was born May 21, 1933, in Ilasco, to Raymond W. and Rachel E. Large Rouse.

He was married to Barbara Jane Fohey on May 24, 1956 in Hannibal. She survives.

Other survivors include three children, Dane Leslie Rouse (Tamara Sue) of Hannibal, Jerry L. Rouse (Thelma Wamsley) of Hannibal, Terry Lynn Rouse (Tammy) of New London; one brother, “Babe” Rouse of Hannibal; one sister, Carolyn Hack of the state of Texas. He is also survived by six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Dane was preceded in death by his parents; his infant twin brother, Darrell; an infant brother, Loren; 4 brothers, Raymond "Judge" Rouse, Harlow Rouse, Melford Rouse, Stanley Rouse; and one sister, Teresa Rouse Winn.

Dane was a United States Army Veteran. He served his country proudly during the Korean Conflict.

Professionally, Dane worked as an operator for the Corps of Engineers at Lock and Dam # 22 at Saverton.

Dane enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his dogs. A talented softball player, Dane played fastpitch softball for many years. He is a member of the Hannibal Parks and Recreation Department's Wall of Fame for softball. Dane also liked to play his harmonica and listen to old country music. Most of all, Dane loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Dane was a member of Arch United Methodist Church.
