Virginia A. (Ginny) Riggs, 90, of Maryville, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2019, at the Maryville Living Center.

Private interment will be held at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to Park United Methodist Church.

She was born Oct. 9, 1928, in Hannibal. She was the daughter of Robert Earl and Izetta Lorraine (Ruhl) Elgin.

On Jan. 18, 1948, she married Darrell B. (Jack) Riggs, who predeceased her Jan. 25, 2019.

She lived in Maryville the last eight years. She previously resided in Hannibal from 1967 to 2010 and St. Joseph from 1956 to 1967. She worked as a sales clerk for the J. C. Penney Company in St. Joseph and as a service representative and call center supervisor for AT&T in Hannibal. She was a member of Park United Methodist Church in Hannibal, serving on numerous committees and was a member of United Methodist Women. She was a founding member of the Hannibal Jazz Society, Hannibal Regional Hospital Auxiliary and AT&T Pioneers. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend.

Survivors include three sons, Jerry and wife, Mary, of Maryville, Bob and wife, Sally, of Hillsboro, and Kevin and wife, Pam, of Marshall. She is also survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
