Virginia Ruth (Dryden) Stolte, 85, of New London, passed away at 10:34 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal.
Graveside services and burial will be Wednesday, March 27, 2019, at 11 a.m. at the Antioch Cemetery in rural Hannibal. Rev James Bridges will officiate. There will be no visitation.
The family is being served by James O'Donnell Funeral home.
Virginia was born July 20, 1933, in Hannibal to Clarence and Cleopatra Harwood Dryden.
Survivors include one son, David Stolte; two daughters, Sheri Pfaff and Holly McGlothin; one sister, Jean Sims; and six grandchildren, Jamie Pfaff Woodhurst, Sarah Pfaff Wittland, Samuel Stolte, Lucas Stolte, Kacey Campbell Compton and Megan Campbell Angel. Virginia is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, Zachary Woodhurst, Emily Woodhurst, Morgan Wittland, Nola Wittland, Scott Stolte, Sydni Stolte, Emberly Stolte, Syrus Stolte, Finley Compton, Asher Compton, Jacob Angel, Matthew Angel, Nolan Angel and Keaton Angel.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Scott Stolte; one grandchild, Brandy Pfaff; one brother, Edward Dryden; and four sisters, Irene Richmond, Thelma Rascher, Mary Sims and Shirley Cramlett.
Virginia was affectionally known as Granny to the family and was an inspiration to everyone. Her favorite past times were writing in her journals and calling her granddaughter on the phone. Unknown to most people, Virginia was a poet!
Her love was for family, her country and her Lord, Jesus Christ.
Pallbearers will be Paul Pfaff, Steve Clause, Samuel Stolte, Lucas Stolte, Zachary Woodhurst and Scott Woodhurst.
Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip McGlothin, Jared Wittland and David Stolte
Memorials may be made to the Children's Department at the Antioch Baptist Church in Hannibal.
