Obituary: Norma Arnold, 90, of New London

Norma Arnold, 90, of New London, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2019, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 28, 2019, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home. Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate. Burial will be at the Fairview Cemetery in Frankford.

Friends and family are invited to Norma's Life Celebration at a visitation from noon until the time of service Thursday at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home. 

Norma was born Aug. 25, 1928, in Hannibal to Joseph and Reba Campbell Hubbard.

She was married to Silas L. Arnold on Dec. 24, 1945, in Hannibal. He preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 1971.

Survivors include three children, Sharon Hunt (J.R.) of Cairo, William Arnold of Hannibal and Janet Groenda (Kurt) of Palmyra. Norma is also survived by nine grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Winifred O'Neil Hubbard.

Norma was a homemaker. She enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball. Gardening, caring for flowers and attending the farmer's market were a few of Norma's favorites. Norma enjoyed watching old westerns and the Game Show Network. A wonderful cook at Christmas time, Norma made the best fudge, popcorn balls and divinity. Most of all Norma cherished the time she shared with her friends and family.

Pallbearers will be Randy Harrell, Steve Hunt, Josh Hess, James Hess, Jon McCammon and Kurtis McCammon.
