Shirley C. Pollard, 92, of Hannibal, passed away at 6:14 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal.

Shirley C. Pollard, 92, of Hannibal, passed away at 6:14 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019, at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. Pastor Wes Gehrke will officiate.

Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Palmyra.

Family and friends are invited to Shirley's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be held Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra.

Shirley was born Nov. 21, 1926 in New Windsor, Ill. to LaVern and Marjorie Livingston Carlson.

She was married to Archie V. (Bill) Pollard on Sept. 20, 1947 in San Antonio, Texas. He preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 1991. She graduated from New Windsor High School in 1944.

Professionally, Shirley worked at the Palmyra Spectator for many years as a proofreader and then in the offices of American Safety.

Shirley was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid and Wednesday morning Bible study. She was a 60-year member of Town and Country Club and "The Card Club." She volunteered by delivering books from the library and meals from the Nutrition Center to shut-ins. She was a member of the Sunshine Ladies at Maple Lawn. Her most loved hobbies included playing cards, reading and doing word search puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie V. (Bill) Pollard; parents; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jane and Dean Anderson; and daughter-in-law, Patty Pollard.

Survivors include sons, Larry Pollard (Karen), of Owensboro, Ky. and Bruce Pollard (Gwenda) of Hannibal; grandchildren, Dustin Pollard (Andrea), and Amy Jo Moore (Jeff); great-grandchildren, Tyler Pollard (Hanna Keene), Clayton Pollard (Chelsea), Sadie Pollard (Keegan Mortensen), Cooper Stotts, Caden Stotts, Ailah Miller, Adyliegh Miller, Phoebe Moore and Pyper Joe Moore.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Pollard, Tyler Pollard, Clayton Pollard, Jeff Moore, Rendell Hoenes and David Hoenes.
