Dolores J. Astorino, 85, of Hannibal, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019 at Luther Manor Nursing Center in Hannibal.

Dolores J. Astorino, 85, of Hannibal, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019 at Luther Manor Nursing Center in Hannibal.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Hannibal. Father Mike Quinn will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.

Friends and family are invited to Dolores' Life Celebration at a visitation that will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. with prayer service at 4:30 p.m. at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.

Dolores was born July 2, 1933, in Liberty, Ill. to Paul D. and Opal M. Ford Chase.

She was married to Sam Astorino on Aug. 29, 1953 in Hannibal. He preceded her in death Feb. 21, 2004.

Survivors include two sons, Jimmy P. Astorino (Teri) of Hannibal and Samuel J. Astorino (Natalie) of Hannibal; six grandchildren, James Astorino (Martha), Lance Astorino (Lisa), Angela Williams (Michael), David Astorino (Kimberly), Krystl Jessop (Alex) and Nick Stroker (Melissa Ball); 10 great-grandchildren, Amron, Logan, Kobe, Amber, Sylvia, Andrea, Vincent, Zach, Nikolai and Adam; and one great-great-grandchild, Warren. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Joyce Culp and Noraline Ungerer.

Professionally, Dolores worked for over 23 years at Watlow. She retired as a lead person after many years of service.

Dolores was a wonderful cook. She made the best spaghetti and meatballs, homemade sausages and strawberry and rhubarb pies. Caring for her flower garden, spending time at the family river camp fishing with her husband, Sam, or playing shuffleboard with friends at the VFW were a few of Dolores' favorites.

She loved to watch "Wheel of Fortune" and her cooking shows. Old time country music and dances at the Moose Lodge also brought Dolores pleasure. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Dolores loved to spend time with her family.

Dolores was a 1951 graduate of Liberty, Illinois High School. She was also a member of the Hannibal VFW # 2446 and the American Legion Post # 55 Ladies Auxiliary.

Dolores was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic School or Holy Family Catholic Church.

Pallbearers will be James Astorino, Lance Astorino, David Astorino, Kobe Williams, Amron Astorino and Mike Williams.

Honorary pallbearers will be Nick Stroker and Mrs. Astorino's great-grandchildren.
