Earl Fitch, 91, of Hannibal, passed away at 6:26 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2019 at Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, Ill.

Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.

There will be no services at this time.

Earl was born May 3, 1927, in Bushnell, Ill. to Floyd and Mildred Richter Fitch.

He was married to Elva Eddington on July 19, 1946 in Monmouth, Ill. She preceded him in death in 2014.

Survivors include four children, Terry Fitch (Mary) of Hannibal, Ralph Fitch (Barb) of Marshall, Mich., Janice Aldrich (Jim) of Hannibal, Lee Ann Goodemote (Calvin) of Thayer, Iowa; nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. He is also survived by one brother, Albert Fitch (Suzanne) of the state of Florida and one sister, Margaret Crandall of Moline, Ill.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, George Fitch; and one sister, Emma Sinnett.

Earl served his country proudly in the United States Navy during World War II.

Professionally, Earl was a lineman for the Burlington Northern Railroad. He retired in 1987.

Earl was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and he enjoyed golfing. Earl was a Mason, a 60-year member of St. John's Lodge #28 and a member of the Eastern Star.
