Obituary: Ruth Taliaferro, 90, of Hannibal

Ruth Taliaferro, 90, of Hannibal, died peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018, in La Jolla, Calif., surrounded by her family.


She was born in Chicago, Ill., to Louise Anna Doster and Alfred Arthur Klemm on Jan. 6, 1928. She was the sixth of 10 children.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Darrell Taliaferro, and her daughter, Mary Ellen Carney.


She is survived by her children, Elizabeth Keavney of Lakewood, Calif., Dan Taliaferro of Overland Park, Kan., and Caroline Diamant of Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.


Ruth was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and choir and Mark Twain Chorale.


Her memorial service will be held Friday, Jan. 4, at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in West Ely.


In lieu of flowers, memorials are recommended to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Apple of His Eye Ministries.
