Henry Erby Jr., 79, of New London, passed away at 8:16 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, 2018, at the Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Rev. Richard Smith will officiate. Burial will be at the Pleasant View Cemetery in New London.
Friends and family are invited to Henry's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be held from 6 p.m.  to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.
Henry was born June 12, 1939, in Frankford to Henry Erby Sr. and Irene Jackson Erby.
He was married to Eva Hawkins on Oct. 3, 1968, in Hannibal. She survives.
Other survivors include seven children, John Gilkey of Atlanta, Ga., Sam Gilkey (Karen) of Lee's Summit, Henry Allen Erby of Hannibal, Kelly Hawkins of Hannibal, Sonja Ellis (Tim) of Columbia, Dawn Ganaway (Keith) of Hannibal and Angela "Baby Girl" Erby of Columbia; his brother, James Mallory of Hannibal; his sister, Betty Elder of Quincy, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents; and four sisters, Minnie Allison, Velma Monroe, Ida Mae Gunn and Eula Ball.
Henry retired from the Continental Cement Company after several years of service. He had also previously worked at the Missouri Department of Transportation and for Harbison Walker of Vandalia.

Away from work Henry enjoyed time shared with his family. Playing cards, mowing grass and watching westerns on T.V. were a few of Henry's favorites. Most of all he simply enjoyed the time he spent with family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Robert Dale Hawkins, Jacob Ellis, Keith Ganaway, Allen Erby Jr., Jalin Crenshaw and Steven Perkins.
Honorary pallbearers will be Arch Allison, Rodney Wells, Robert Stevenson, Glen Houchins and Broderick Allison.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Pleasant View Cemetery Association.
