Vivian M. Sublette, 93, of Hannibal, passed away Monday, Sept. 3, 2018, at Luther Manor Nursing Center in Hannibal.
Vivian M. Sublette, 93, of Hannibal, passed away Monday, Sept. 3, 2018, at Luther Manor Nursing Center in Hannibal. Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. Pastor Mike Rickman will officiate. Burial with be at Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra. The Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until time of service on Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel.
Vivian was born June 14, 1925, in rural Palmyra, to Nick William and Grace Isabelle Kontz Reiff.
She was married to Fred William Sublette on Feb. 5, 1944, in Palmyra. He preceded her in death Nov. 27, 2006.
Survivors include four sons, Roger Sublette (Marilyn), Hannibal, Jack Sublette (fiance Diane Arch), Palmyra, Gary "Bud" Sublette (Karyl), Palmyra, Rick Sublette (Jackie), Palmyra; eight grandchildren, Todd Sublette (Kate), Cammie Sublette (Len Baledge), Brandon Sublette (Jessica), Jamie Hoerr (John), John Sublette (Deanna), Andrea Jean Plank (Gary), Leah Dawson (Justin), and Garret Sublette (special friend Jen Avise); 15 great-grandchildren, Tanner (MacKenzie), Erin, Ben, Clara, Laithan, Olivia, Mallory, Brody, Ottilie, Jack, Wyatt, Ryan, Logan, Gage and Nash; and two sisters-in-law, Millie Stephens, Delhart, Texas, and Marita Reiff, Palmyra.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her daughter, Karen Webb; son-in-law, Glenn Webb; grandson, John Glenn Webb; great-grandson, Aaron Michael Dawson; and brother, John Reiff.
Vivian attended Palmyra High School.
She worked numerous jobs, including the telephone company, the shoe factory and the fabric department at Tempo Department Store.
Vivian enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening and puzzles. She also raised game birds for many years.
She volunteered at Maple Lawn Nursing Home, earning the honor of Volunteer of the Year, with a special day called "the Vivian Sublette" Day.
Vivian was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Palmyra, and was active in WM's, as a hospice volunteer and served as church pianist.
Memorials may be made to Shiloh Children's Ranch and/or First Assembly of God Church of Palmyra.
Pallbearers will be Todd Sublette, Brandon Sublette, John Sublette, Garret Sublette, Len Baledge, John Hoerr, Gary Plank and Justin Dawson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Kate Sublette, Andrea Plank, Jessica Sublette, Cammie Sublette, Jaime Hoerr, Leah Dawson, Jen Avise and Deanna Sublette.
