Gerald Duane Sweet, 85, of Hannibal, Mo., formerly of Black River Falls, Wis., passed away at 6:58 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at the Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal.
Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Wisconsin.
Gerald was born Nov. 7, 1931, in Madison, Wis., to Melvin and Violet Griffin Sweet.
Gerald previously married Norma J. Schendel on Dec. 31, 1951. She preceded him in death. He later married Donna Rozmenoski on July 26, 1961. She preceded him in death in 2006.
Gerald was married to Nina Hoskins on Feb. 3, 2008, in Black River Falls, Wis. She survives.
Other survivors include 10 children, June Tyberg, Patrick Scott, Clare Sweet, Kathy Sweet, LeeAnn Sweet, Theron Sweet, Jerry Sweet, Harry Sweet, Travis Sweet, and Debbie Geralts; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Lester Sweet, and two daughters, Theresa Sweet and Holly Gutche.
Gerald was a retired farmer. He farmed at a dairy farm in Tomah, Wis. Gerald would also farm corn and haul hay to Canada. He also was the owner/operator of Elm Street Trailer Park in Black River Falls, Wis.
Gerald enjoyed yard work and hunting.
He was a Baptist by faith.
