Edwin L. Slater, Sr., 75, of Hannibal, Mo., passed away at 8:35 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at the Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal.
Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hannibal.
Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2017, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home. The family is being served by the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal.
Edwin was born Feb. 16, 1941, in Marshall, Mo., to George L. and Iona L. Vaughn Slater.
He was married to Betty Coffey. She preceded him in death April 19, 2007.
Survivors include seven children, Gay Slater, Charles Slater, Lisa Slater, Robin L. Wilson, Edwin L. Slater, Jr., Heather Slater, and Daniel Slater; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Edwin was preceded in death by his parents.
Edwin was a retired truck driver. After he retired from driving trucks, he cooked at Country Kitchen in Hannibal, and other area restaurants.
Edwin enjoyed fishing. He also loved time with his pets, especially his dog, "Bingo".
