Rosemary Klawonn, 92, of New London, Mo., passed away at 9:10 a.m. Sunday, May 15, 2016, at Luther Manor Nursing Center in Hannibal.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 20, 2016, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Pastor Tom Day will officiate. Burial will be at Barkley Cemetery in New London, Mo.

Family and friends are invited to Rosemary’s life celebration at a visitation from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, at the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.

Rosemary was born April 15, 1924, in Moline, Ill., to Harold and Aileen Cadwallader Eddy.

She was married to Mahlon Klawonn on July 3, 1943 in Moline, Ill. He preceded her in death Aug. 4, 1986.

Survivors include two children, Carol Ann Hoffarth (Eugene) of Albuquerque, N.M. and Gary Klawonn (Ellie) of Kansas City, Mo.; two grandchildren, Cynthia Tharp (Larry) of New London, Mo. and Jeff Sparks (Angie) of Hannibal, Mo.; six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Eddy, and many friends and family.

Rosemary was the owner and operator of the Shady Rest Restaurant since 1950, where she lived for many years. She enjoyed playing cards, Sudoku and liked doing puzzles. Rosemary loved everyone and was "Grandma" to many. She never had a bad word to say about anyone. She believed that everyone should be kind to each other and that's how she lived. Rosemary will be remembered by friends and family for her kindness, for her giving and caring personality and as a "True Lady." She was a Methodist by faith and attended the First Christian Church in New London, Mo.

Memorial contributions may be made to the First Christian Church, New London, in care of the James O'Donnell Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Glenn Fowler, Logan Fowler, Derrick Taylor, Richard Reed, Jonathan Klawonn and Frank Fogle.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie David, Jim Overstreet, Jim "Feathers" Watkins and all other Shady Rest friends.
