HANNIBAL — Nonprofit organizations will soon have the opportunity to learn about how to effectively connect with media outlets and foster volunteer programs through an interactive workshop.
Two different nonprofit consulting experts will offer a hands-on and interactive opportunity for nonprofit leaders to learn how to effectively maximize their impact through media connections and volunteer opportunities Tuesday, April 11 and Wednesday April 12.
"Strategies To engage volunteers and media with your mission" is a two-part, three-hour webinar designed to allow participants to leave with the following:
- A structured and individualized plan for volunteer recruitment and retention programming.
- Insight and wisdom shared by a special highly esteemed and respected “guest” — a volunteer from one of the largest nonprofits in the St. Louis area. They will share from a volunteer perspective how to make our volunteers want to be some of our most valuable assets and advocates.
- Proven methods to make your organization shines utilizing both volunteer and media relations efforts.
- The exclusive opportunity to meet and learn from Chad Douglas and Rajah Maples, who both served for over 20 years as local reporters/news anchors with KHQA television in Quincy, Ill. They will be answering questions about topics like what grabs the media’s attention.
- And finally, your own personalized press release outline that will allow you to creatively begin a press release to be submitted shortly after the workshop.
The workshop is a joint collaborative effort between Rhonda Travers, President and Founder of Travers Training & Consulting, and Amy Vaughn, President and Founder and Be The Change For Your Community.
Cost for the two-part, two-day event is $85 per organization. If time constraints or scheduling conflicts do not permit participants to attend both days, registration is also available for individual sessions.
