HANNIBAL - Officials with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources said one person died and another was missing after a boat crashed into a barge Saturday night, Aug. 3, at Hannibal.

DNR officials said seven people were on the boat when the crash occurred on the Illinois side of the Mississippi River at about 7:30 p.m. Five people made it to shore safely, but one person died and another was missing.

The deceased boater was not identified.

The U.S. Coast Guard issued a warning for people to be on the lookout for a white female with blonde hair, who was reportedly in the water.
