A 107-year-old woman's secret to living a long, full life isn't what you might expect.

Louise Signore, a New Yorker who celebrated her birthday this week with family and friends, thinks her longevity is due, at least in part, to the fact she never tied the knot, according to USA Today.

“I think the secret of 107: I never got married," she told New York TV station WCBS. "I think that’s the secret. My sister says, ‘I wish I never got married.’ ”

Good genes appear to run in Signore's family. USA Today reports that two of her siblings are still alive, including a younger sister who just turned 102.

Signore's friends say she's in remarkably good health, still getting around without the need for a cane or walker. And she's only on one medication, which combats high blood pressure.

The oldest living woman in the U.S. is a 114-year-old woman who also lives in New York, according to CNN.
