Hamburger and hot dog buns sold under a variety of brand names at a number of retailers are being recalled because of a potential choking hazard.

The buns, made by Flowers Food, may contain small bits of hard plastic as a result of a manufacturing issue, according to CBS News.

The buns have "best by" dates of July 17, July 18 or July 19 and were sold in these states: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.

In addition to the buns, some other baked goods from the same company are also being recalled as a precaution.

These brands are affected, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration:

- 7-Eleven

- Bravo

- CBC Nathans

- Clover Valley

- Family Style

- Flowers

- Flowers BBQ bread

- Flowers enriched rolls
