The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program at Douglass Community Services recently inducted three volunteers into its Hall of Fame.
Persons who have volunteered 4,000 hours or 20 years of service are eligible for inclusion into the Hall of Fame. Those inducted include: Ellen Jean Reeves, Sharon Walley and Sharon Sumpter.
“Hall of Fame members are the cream of the crop for volunteers,” said RSVP Director Stacey Nicholas. “They continually and selflessly give of themselves to make their communities better places to live.”
Partially funded by the Corporation for National and Community Service, RSVP enriches the lives of senior adults through significant community volunteer service and personal development. RSVP encourages seniors to volunteer their talents, experiences, skills and hobbies to community not-for-profit agencies for the betterment of those agencies and the community as a whole. RSVP at Douglass Community Services is a United Way Agency.
