Customers arriving at the Hannibal Salvation Army Family Store in Steamboat Bend Shopping Center on Thursday, May 16, were surprised to be served a free lunch by the Salvation Army Advisory Council members.
This was part of Customer Appreciation Day, where more than 50 people were served hot dogs, chips, cookies and soft drinks.
In addition, a $20 gift card will be presented to a customer whose name was drawn at the close of the business day on Thursday.
The store is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
The Hannibal store celebrated its second anniversary at the current location in January. Salvation Advisory Council Chairman Charles Bindemann on Thursday said, "We are overjoyed with the success of the store with the new location and the ability to accommodate our shoppers, both in hours of operations and parking.
"Our store management does a great job of rotating stock, and the merchandise is attractively displayed. Today we are offering a free lunch to our customers and the people who donated things to the store.
"The monies generated from the store's operation are used to supply the needs of our Hannibal community, and we look forward to further growth and sales."
He added, "a heartfelt thanks to all those who donated to make the store a success."
