Hannibal Arts Council to showcase 'Hannibal Today'

This digital image of Downtown Hannibal is an example of the types of images the Hannibal Arts Council is seeking for its upcoming Bicentennial-themed Photography Channel exhibit. The Photography Channel celebrates Hannibal's Bicentennial by respecting the past and looking at Hannibal in the present. To fit the theme, submitted images should feature today's Hannibal — your favorite places, community events, people — and what makes Hannibal special to you.

The Hannibal Arts Council invites the public to submit digital images for an upcoming Bicentennial-themed Photography Channel exhibit, titled Hannibal Today.

The Photography Channel celebrates Hannibal’s Bicentennial by respecting the past and looking at Hannibal in the present. To fit the theme, submitted images should feature today’s Hannibal — your favorite places, community events, people — and what makes Hannibal special to you. Digital or cell phone camera, Instagram or Facebook images are acceptable formats to submit. The images will be viewed on the Hannibal Arts Council’s 55-inch 3-D television from June 7-July 6.

To submit digital images for Hannibal Today, attach up to five images of signs to an email (or send in separate emails) and send to kerrieo@hannibalarts.com by Wednesday, June 5. Participants are asked to put their name in the subject line or in the body of the email, so participants may be identified with their images.

Full guidelines for submitting images are available on the Gallery/Artist Opportunities page at hannibalarts.com. For information on this and other HAC programs, contact the Hannibal Arts Council at findit@hannibalarts.com or 573-221-6545.
