Lease agreements between city and Canton Marine Towing OK'd

New job descriptions and titles involving personnel in the parks and recreation, and street departments, plus the finance office, were approved Tuesday night by the Hannibal City Council. Andy Dorian, who previously held the title of parks and recreation director, is now the director of central services. His duties will include the overall day-to-day operations and management of both the parks and recreation, and street departments. Jessica Rosenkranz, currently the secretary for the parks department, has been reclassified as parks secretary/fiscal assistant. She will now serve as part-time support to the finance director, fill in for the collector's office and continue her duties as parks secretary. Aron Lee, currently the assistant director of the parks department, will now hold the title of assistant director of central services - parks division. Mike McHargue, who had been the department of public works superintendent, is now assistant director of central services - street division. In other business: *The results of the recent municipal election were certified. The oath of office was administered to Mayor James Hark, Second Ward Councilman Mike Dobson and Fourth Ward Councilman Alan Bowen. *Dobson was selected by the council to remain the mayor pro tem. *Council Jeff Veach was appointed to fill a seat in behalf of the city on the Northeast Missouri Economic Development Council, effective July 1. *The mayor was authorized to take the steps necessary to fill two upcoming vacancies on the municipal court staff. *The destruction of certain city documents was approved. *A bid of $44,550 from Republic Services was accepted. The company will provide a citywide cleanup later in the year. *A pair of one-year lease agreements between the city and Canton Marine Towing were approved. One lease provides Canton Marine Towing with a docking site on the Hannibal riverfront. The other lease allows the city to use a temporary boat ramp on property owned by Canton Marine Towing. *A proposed change to Hannibal Fire Department residency requirements was given second and final reading. The residency requirement of 20 miles to the nearest city limit was changed to 35 miles to the nearest city limit marker.
