As Hannibal celebrates its bicentennial, a 1969 time capsule in Central Park was opened May 1. Although it was buried in a cement vault, most of the items were water-logged and ruined.

Three tables of items that were saved were displayed Saturday, May 4, during ceremonies in the park. They will be displayed in Hannibal's City Hall throughout 2019.

Additional details, a video and photo galleries will be posted later, and an article will be published Tuesday, May 7.
