Top HHS Art Awards announced

HHS art instructors James Zimmerman, Lisa Wiese and Christina Strode announced winners from the Hannibal High School exhibit held during the recent Hannibal Arts Council’s Young Masters Exhibit. Awards were presented on Tuesday, April 30 at a closing awards ceremony held at the Hannibal Arts Council.

Best of Show: "Story in the Eyes" by Jake Riefesel; Best 3D: "Wasp" by Khloee Hinton; Best Drawing: "Sad Eyes" by Alexia Gonzalez; Best Oil Pastel: "Take Flight" by Lily Brewer; Best Watercolor: "Cherry" by Kyleigh Gibbs; and Best Painting: "Why So Blue" by Claire Thomas.

Art Excellence Awards were given to "Cat Eyes" by Brianna Reed; "Sea Turtle" by Harmyni Combs; "Skull" by Miya Kauffold; "Blue Bird on Stick" by Claire Thomas; "Beautiful Life" by Madison Person and "Puppy Dog Eyes" by Khloee Hinton.

Honorable Mentions were given to "Blue Flower" by Jacob Baker; "Dock at Dawn" by Kyleigh Gibbs; "Fire House" by Antonio Davis; "Ashore" by Josie Zeiger; and "Tray of Clay" by Maisie Scodino.
