HHS tennis team captures road win

Hannibal High School's tennis team improved its record to 9-7 on Tuesday when it won in Moberly 7-2.

In singles play: #1 Ethan Bross lost 7-10 versus Alex Fincher, #2 Austin Brown won 10-6 versus Matt Zauke, #3 Collin Poage won 10-3 versus Nick Faiella, #4 Nathan Destefane won 10-6 versus Matt Marek, #5 Trent Kempker won 10-1 versus Carl Thomas, #6 Kyle Murphy won 10-6 versus Jarod Coke.
In doubles action: #1 Bross/Poage lost 10-11(2-7) versus Fincher/Faiella, #2 Brown/Destefane won 10-1 versus Zauke/Keegan Steward, #3 Kempker/Murphy won 10-1 versus Marek/Thomas. 
In junior varsity singles: Nick Tompkins won 6-1 versus Cody Nott-Hopkins, Noah Evans won 6-1 versus Nott-Hopkins.
Hannibal next competes on Thursday when it goes up against the Mexico Military Academy in Mexico.

HANNIBAL – Children danced with the Hannibal Fire Department's fire pup, caught toy bats with a fishing pole magnet and raced through a maze of hay bales at the Hannibal County Market's annual Pumpkin Fest on Saturday.
