Work of the United Way of the Mark Twain Area impacts over 30,000 local individuals and pumps several hundred thousand dollars into Lewis, Marion, Monroe, Ralls and Shelby counties.
United Way utilizes a grass roots approach to solving community issues. Issues are identified and dollars are invested in local non-profit organizations to help solve those problems. All money is raised locally through a yearly fundraising campaign. This year’s “Be The Change” Campaign has financially committed dollars to 26 area non-profits that will assist over 30,000 individuals living in Lewis, Marion, Monroe, Ralls, and Shelby counties in Northeast Missouri. All of these organizations are working to empower individuals to achieve their potential.
Locally over 4,600 individuals and businesses have invested in the “Be The Change” Campaign to raise over $385,000 for the community. The organization is less than $15,000 away from reaching their $400,000 campaign goal.
In an effort to close this funding gap, the organization is seeking 150 individuals to give $100 so the organization will be able to ensure individuals in the community are empowered to achieve their potential by having their needs met.
United Way is feeding the elderly and underprivileged families and youth. The organization is protecting abused women and children. United Way is working to ensure children are entering kindergarten with the skills they need to succeed. The organization is working to make their vision for the community come to life: a community where all individuals are empowered to achieve their potential through education, financial stability and health.
United Way is asking individuals to join the family of 150 donors giving $100 to keep our community moving forward. Gifts can be mailed to PO Box 81 Hannibal, Mo. or made online to https://unitedwaymta.org/donate.
