Large photographs of 25 animals from Mark Wavering's Animals book will line park's sidewalk from Monday, April 1 to Monday, April 15
A Hannibal artist is displaying his works through a spring Art Circus exhibit that will run for two weeks beginning Monday in Central Park.
Mark Wavering has put on Art Circus events in the past, featuring watercolor paintings, charcoal artwork and photos. Those previous events were for one day, but the latest exhibit has grown to cover two weeks, thanks to help from the Hannibal Parks and Recreation Department, who allowed Wavering to display 25 16-by-20 photos from his Animals book for free.
Wavering said is excited about the chance to host more exhibits and expand to Hannibal's other parks this year. “I'm really looking forward to this summer with more exhibits, with the weather getting better,” he said.
Since Wavering's first Art Circus in October 2016, he has been showing his artwork more frequently in additional venues throughout the area. In addition to holding exhibits in Hannibal, Moberly, Columbia and Quincy, he has five works for sale on Amazon that range from coloring books to collections of watercolor paintings and photographs. His books are also sold at the Mark Twain Museum and are available for reading at Hannibal-LaGrange University.
