The long trip to Marshall paid off Tuesday night for the Hannibal High School girls soccer team which won 6-0.

"It took us awhile to get going as we were getting adjusted to playing on grass for the first time this year and their field is pretty beat up," said HHS Coach Eric Hill, whose team improved to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the conference. "The girls showed good movement and were looking to connect the right passes, we just had some bad bounces of the ball due to field conditions." Kaylee Falconer scored the game's first goal in the 12th minute off an assist from Bella Falconer. Maddie Janes scored an unassisted goal in the 28th minute. Haley Ballinger found the goal in the 36th minute off an assist from Kaylee Falconer. Kaylee Falconer would score her second goal of the night in the 39th minute. In the second half Bella Falconer scored in the 51st minute on an assist from Hannah Nichols. Bella Falconer scored again in the 75th minute on a penalty kick. In junior varsity play Hannibal won 2-0, to improve its overall record to 2-3 and 2-0 in the conference. Baylee Zeiger scored Hannibal's first goal in the 14th minute with no assist. Then Riley Stevenson scored in the 28th minute on an assist from Kendel Locke.  The soccer Lady Pirates are back in action Thursday at Moberly.
