Officers assigned to the Anti-Crime Enforcement Squad (ACES) arrested a man and woman at about 5:38 p.m. Tuesday March 26 at a local business parking lot, resulting in felony charges of methamphetamine trafficking.

Hannibal police officers reported that Courtney Mayfield, 20, of Hannibal, and Donte Clausell, 30, of Quincy, were found to be in possession of a large amount of a substance believed to be methamphetamine.

Marion County Prosecuting Attorney Luke Bryant filed Class C felony charges of second-degree drug trafficking for Clausel and for Mayfield, who was also arrested on multiple felony warrants and resisting arrest, according to officers.

Each defendant is lodged in the Marion County Jail on $50,000 cash-only bonds. They are scheduled for arraignment Friday, March 29 before Marion County Associate Judge John Jackson.
