Hannibal High School's soccer team tasted defeat for the first time Friday night when it lost to Hickman 3-0 at Porter Stadium.

"We just came up against a very tough Hickman team tonight," said Hannibal Coach Eric Hill.

The game was scoreless until the 31st minute of the first half.

After leading 1-0 at the half the visitors added an insurance goal in the 42nd minute. Hickman tacked on a final goal in the 75th minute.

"We had our chances. We just couldn’t get the final pass to connect in our offensive third tonight," Hill said.

Hannibal's varsity is 3-1 on the season. It plays in Marshall Tuesday.

In JV action Friday, Hickman came out on top 3-0. The HHS JV is now 1-3.
