Deer causes fatal crash

A Bowling Green teen was fatally injured and a Curryville teen seriously injured in a traffic accident at 7:20 p.m. Friday, March 22, in rural Pike County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Kaleo K. Dade, 18, of Bowling Green, was driving a 2006 Ford Focus on Route E north of Route MM, when the car hit a deer in the road. The car traveled off the left side of the road and hit an embankment.

Dade was pronounced dead at the scene by Pike County Ambulance personnel at 8:04 p.m.

Kyle Horner, 17, of Curryville, was flown to the University Hospital in Columbia.
