There will be an information session and fundraiser in Hannibal on the evening of March 23 to support the work of Emma Tracy and the Children’s Camp at Detroit-area ministry Micah 6 Community.

Tracy, a Hannibal native, moved to Pontiac, Mich., in June of 2018 to work with Micah 6 Community, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization working in an economically distressed part of metro-Detroit. They do this through a network of community gardens, affordable housing, creating job opportunities and creating out-of-school learning opportunities for community children.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will support Tracy’s summer camp which includes STEM learning, art projects, nature education and field trips to area museums, farms, and attractions. The information session and fundraiser is free to attend, and those attending will be given the opportunity to sponsor a student for the summer.

The event will be held at American Family Insurance Building located at 105 North Maple Ave. from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  Tracy and several other members of the Micah 6 Community team will be on hand to talk about their work, answer questions and share information. Event will serve food from JJ’s Catering Company.
