Pirates rally to beat Bulldogs

The Hannibal Pirates mounted a furious fourth-quarter rally Tuesday night in Mexico to pull out a 68-67 victory.
Hannibal found itself facing a 45-38 deficit after three quarters. The Pirates, who are 4-2 this season in games decided by five points or less, outscored their hosts 30-22 in the fourth quarter to capture the win.
Dezi Jones, who led Hannibal with 35 points, spearheaded the fourth-quarter comeback with 19 points.
Also scoring in double figures for Hannibal were Logan Liverett (11 points) and Adreke Brumbaugh (10 points).
Hannibal, which extended its late-season winning streak to six games, wrapped up conference play 8-1. Overall the Pirates are 18-4. 
Hannibal's boys will next compete on Tuesday in the Class 4, District 8 tournament being played in Hannibal. The Pirates will play the winner of a matchup between Kirksville and Mexico.
