Palmyra boys feature balanced attack in district win

Featuring four players in double figures Palmyra's boys rolled past Macon 79-49 in a first round of district tournament game Tuesday night in Centralia.
The Panthers' balanced attack was led by William Nunnelly's 19 points. Jayden Durst finished with 18. Treysn Roland totaled 14 while Peyton Abbott added 11.
It was a game early as the second-seeded Panthers led by only one, 12-11, after a quarter. Palmyra pulled away in the second quarter, outscoring the Tigers 20-8.
Palmyra owned the second half, outscoring Macon by a combined 47-30 margin.
Palmyra, 21-4, returns to action in the Class 3, District 13 tournament at 7:30 p.m. Thursday against third-seeded Centralia, 20-6. Centralia defeated Missouri Military Academy 48-37 in its district opener Tuesday.
