The Hannibal Lady Pirates are coming off a season of five wins, three losses and several invitationals where they placed well and swimmers medaled.

Hannibal sent six girls to the State Class 1 Championships, Friday, Feb. 15, at the St. Peter's Rec Plex.

“There’s no coasting to the finish line for the 200 Free Relay team, which consists of sophomore McKenna Grimmer, freshman Kaylee Michaels, senior Makenzie Prenger and junior Peyton Utterback with alternates freshman Kendel Locke and freshman Callie Wright. Peyton Utterback will also swim in the 100 Breaststroke,” said HHS Swim Coach Mindy Allen.

Allen saluted her team's hard work throughout the season.

“They are working hard to rise above challenges this year and make this state appearance one for the record books,” she said.. “They push one another to be better and to want more in each race.  It has been an honor to work with these ladies and it will be exciting to see them in action at state to close this season out.”
