John Wood Community College in Quincy, Ill., reported its 12-week session provides students an additional opportunity to begin classes in the spring semester.

Transfer students and adults may start general education classes in developmental math, precision machining, music appreciation and welding beginning Feb. 11, which is four weeks after the traditional spring semester.

In addition to the 12-week session, another eight-week online course session will start March 18 as part of the College’s 2x2 program, which allows students to take two classes at a time to complete a degree entirely online. Open learning classes will also be offered in the eight-week format. Classes will include environmental conservation, biology, business, communications, speech, computers, economics, psychology, English, history, humanities, logistics, math, weather and climate, sociology and truck driver training. Basic nurse assisting will be offered in the classroom for those interested in pursuing a certified nursing assistant (CNA) certificate.
