Ivan and Doris Schroder of Hannibal will be celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary. They were married Jan. 29, 1949, in Chillicothe.

As a railroad family, they lived in many towns throughout Missouri and Iowa, but most of their married years were spent in Moberly, Blue Springs and now in Hannibal.

Ivan also holds a Master's Degree in Mathematics, which led him into a career in education and then with the Social Security Administration, from which he retired.

Doris retired after her career with AT&T, but her major career was as wife and grandmother extraordinaire, which she continues to this day.

They have four children, Kathy (Mitch) Williams of Blue Springs, Dee (Terry) Kendrick of Hannibal and the late Barry and Terry Schroder. They also have seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family is hosting a reception to celebrate and honor them on this special occasion.
